Our mountain pasture is located at the end of Val Vezzola, a valley that runs parallel to Val Fraele and borders the Valle del Foscagno. It is reached from Pedenosso via a narrow, steep farm road that intersects with the AEM service road connecting Arnoga to the Fraele Towers. As you ascend, you're surrounded by lush greenery and follow the water-rich valley to its end, where, nestled on a small hill, stands Malga Raethia.
During the summer months, the cows graze freely in these alpine meadows at an altitude of about 2,000 meters. The entirely natural forage, the high altitude, and the freedom to roam in wide pastures all contribute to making the cows’ milk better every day — a rich and flavorful base for the exquisite alpine cheeses we are proud to serve in our agriturismo.
The calves, free to run and move around the expansive alpine fields, grow strong and healthy in harmony with nature’s rhythms.
At our mountain pasture, you can still witness the cheesemaker at work, transforming fresh milk into cheese and dairy products. This tradition is carried on by Simone, the eldest son, who manages the cow herd and has passionately chosen a profession that today is often overlooked and chosen by only a few.
A deep-rooted love for the mountains drives us to continue doing this demanding yet rewarding work in such pristine and breathtaking places.
